The exchange of precious cargo has dictated the evolution of our world, from agricultural roots and industrial overhaul to our current absorption in technology. My painting, "Cargo," examines the intersection of these revolutions and the altered everyday lives they leave in their wake.
In the foreground, an antique car stands before a man holding an oil can. This automobile is a symbol of the industrialization that conquered nations and redefined labor, displacing agricultural ways with assembly lines and mass production. Our eager embrace of this progress set mankind on a new course, one where products and services—like the man servicing the car—became governed by emerging chains of supply and demand.
