Collection: Valarie Davis Collection

Valarie is a mixed media artist inspired by the relationships between cultures, how people are viewed in our society, race, and socioeconomics. In her works, she tries to convey to the viewer, that regardless of one's ideologies, race, culture, and financial status, we all come into life the same and leave the same.

She wants the viewer to understand that due to circumstances beyond our control, our stories may differ from place to place. She intends to show her audience works of art that depict these various stories that hopefully make us all a little more understanding, tolerant, and less fearful of each other and ultimately, respect each other. She wants the viewer to engage themselves with her subject and process.

She uses the mediums of paint and clay to help her illustrate the variety of topics she feels are dear to her experiences and values. Using these materials allows the beauty of the paint or form to look forward and intrusive. Through her art, she hopes to create and educate life experiences and the mindfulness of others.

Valarie has a BFA from the College for Creative Studies (CCS), Detroit, Michigan, and has studied ceramics and sculpting abroad in Florence, Italy. She has a strong passion for art and believes in continuously working on improving her skills as an artist. She has worked for over twenty years as an automotive clay sculptor where she sculpts both interior and exterior automotive designs. Her life is very busy, and she spends all of her free time in her Eastside Detroit art studio where she creates new works of art and mentors young upcoming artists. Herplans include offering art workshops to her clients. Her works can be seen online at; artbyvaldavis.com. Her email address is valariastudioart@yahoo.com.
